What you should know
If you are considering a relocation special, there are a few things you should be aware of before you rush out and book:
- Because relocation deals are subject to the requirements of the rental company, deals are last minute. You can’t book ahead, and there are typically no waiting lists.
- The good news is, there are often lots of relocations around (usually more expensive) peak periods such as school holidays and Christmas.
- Relocations are fantastic for those simply wanting to get from point A to point B. As you are given a set number of days to complete the trip, they are not as suitable for people who want to take the long and winding road. If you want to take your time on your road trip, it is best to consider regular campervan hire.
- As relocation specials are “no frills” deals, you will be given a kilometre allowance in which to complete your journey. Please keep in mind that you will be responsible for paying for any additional km, as well as renting bedding, any insurance and optional extras.
