Reid Anderton is undertaking his biggest challenge yet – The Aussie Challenge! This is a Change for Challenge event, an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest solo supported cycle around Australia. To meet this challenge, Reid will need to cycle an average of 400km/day for 35 days straight. The purpose is to raise funds and awareness for orphans and vulnerable children living in abject poverty in Southern Africa. The funds raised from the ride will support the work of Eagles Wings (http://www.ewafrica.org/).
He is putting his body (and mind) on the line, for the cause. Reid is travelling with a support crew, who will look after everything else: food, accommodation, recharging the numerous lights and tracking devices, refilling his water, giving massages, collecting donations, doing promotions, updating the blog and Facebook page and whatever else this challenge throws at them. All with the aim to give Reid the best possible chance of achieving this goal. The mobile home/control centre (a 6 berth Apollo camper) is named ‘Flo’ – which comes from the team motto “go with flow”. You can follow the ride on facebook and provide hope for the kids here
