Name: Rebecca Woods
Years on the World Tour: 6
A few words from Rebecca: I grew up in a very small town on Australia’s east coast just north of Sydney called Copacabana. Coming from a big family, competition was naturally instilled in me, but it was the freedom of surfing that captured my heart.
With the help and support of my family and the local community I started competing from age fifteen winning a State, National and World Junior Title along the way. From small steps to large I qualified for the World Tour at nineteen and won the World Qualifying Series at twenty.
The World Tour showcases the top eighteen female surfers from across the globe and is a very competitive arena. With strong results and consistency I have remained at this elite level for the last six years but I believe it is within my grasp with gained experience and ability to give the top three run for their money!
I am leaving for the Mentawai island chain in Indonesia on friday for an exciting boat trip, with eight international female surfers and three filmers documenting our adventures. After that I move to Bali for more action photo adventures. It is then time to be home with my family and friends for some of July and a snow trip with some good friends.
